Daytime Programs

To sign up or for more information:

Linda Grignolo

Daytime Meetings take place from 9:30am to 2:00pm on the third Monday of months September thru April with the educational program starting at 10:00am. Meetings are at St Anne’s Church, 147 Concord Road in Lincoln.

A member who has a kit or supplies to do a monthly scheduled class can still participate in the class if you so desire but we ask that you still fill out the coupon and send to the respective program chair.
Also, members who cannot participate in a class but wish to get the kit/supplies will need to make their own arrangements for obtaining the kit.  And if you already have the supplies necessary, but missed the ordering deadline, please do join us, but let the program chair know you will be in the class.

=================================================================

For the next 7 months we have 12 members who are participating in the Friendship Sampler project.

As we look ahead, it is important for me as Programs Chair to know whether the Chapter should offer additional projects and if so, whether any of our members have ideas that they would like to suggest. Maybe you have come across a piece in NeedlePointers, Needlepoint Now, or other magazines you receive that you think our group might also enjoy. Please share it with us at the September Meeting.

Alternatively, I would like to ask whether members would prefer that our meetings remain more relaxed so that they may continue working on UFOs from their own stashes or concentrate on their chosen Heirloom Project due in 2025.

Moreover, I seek your thoughts regarding the possibility of bringing in a National Teacher.  If there is enough interest among our membership for this idea, I will present some examples at our next meetings. Please bring to my attention any examples you have as well so that I can explore all of our options.

It is important to note that your preferences are essential in guiding our future direction as these decisions are not for the Board to make but for our membership. I need to know how you want to spend your meeting time. Therefore, I encourage all of you to provide your feedback and ideas to enable us to create vibrant activities that will engage a majority of our members.

I would appreciate it if you could contact me using the email address and cell phone number below as I will be away from my Wellesley home frequently throughout August and September.
Remember: I am always open to suggestions if you find a project that you think our Chapter might enjoy.

I look forward to receiving your valuable input,

Friendship Sampler

Just a reminder that we will be starting a seven month project (The Friendship Sampler) in September. We will run through April, skipping December, because we are all too busy that month. We have 12 members signed up, so we will have two groups of six.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Pick something that has multiple colors in it and them select other colors to go with it. An example of that is to select a variegated thread such as Watercolors and then select solid colors to coordinate. Other things you might use are a print piece of fabric or wallpaper, advertisements from magazines, photos from garden catalogues, favorite prints or greeting cards.

If possible, try to be sure that there is some contrast in your colors. If one of our colors is a red, then a pale pink or burgundy might be included in your thread choices. Try to avoid colors that are all middle range, they can get rather dull. Sometimes the contrast can be in the canvas, if you have any colored blank canvas in your stash.

If you have any questions on the roadmap or can’t make the drop, here’s who to contact:
